~ Box Braids – Protective Styling! ~

Hey ladies!

Sooo.. I haven’t posted in a really long time because (yes, I have the same excuse) I have been busy guys with being a student, working odd jobs at campus and everyday life. I’m still learning to juggle all those things – time management is a scarce skill!
So enough complaining.. I told you guys I will be posting about my braids soon ay and the day finally came although it is 2 weeks later!

I absolutely love them guys they allow me to make so many styles. I decided on the box braids and had them done by a woman whose passionate about braiding so she took great care of my hair.

Before I had them done I done the LCO method to lock in moisture and protect my hair while in this style. I have them in for 2 weeks now and will be keeping them in for a few more weeks because they still look very good.

I will be posting about my hair regimen while it’s in this protective style and how I sleep with them.
So keep an eye out for that and no not in the next 2 weeks.

– Prep’ing hair for Braidings💆 –

Hey everyone!

Soooo… I have to concur with the other naturals that tried the egg and mayonnaise!
Okay, so I cheated a little bit I didn’t use real mayonnaise because I felt abit anxious about putting it on my hair afraid that it would smell sour. So I substituted it with my Ultimate Organic Therapy Leave-In Liquid Hair Mayonnaise (mouth full I know). It plays the same role as the organic mayonnaise and it doesn’t smell sour.

The egg and mayonnaise mixture is really amazing it does something to my hair that nothing I have tried has done before!  Its super soft, shiny, the elasticity is insane and it just bounces right back when I stretch it! Shrinkage is a sign of health and shrinkage is on overload here, girl!
Okay let me track back on how I prep’d my hair.
I washed my hair Friday using Palmer’s Conditioning Shampoo and then conditioned it used the Repairing Conditioner of the Palmer’s range. 💁💆
Okay, I let that sit for a while while I mixed the egg and mayo mixture.
I used:
1 x egg
1 tbspn of Hair Mayonnaise
1 tspn Coconut oil
1 tspn Olive oil
1 tspn Placenta (just for that extra something something)
I mixed it in a bowl using a fork lightly whisking it.

Alright, I put all that on my hair after rinsing the conditioner. Put on a shower cap but that didn’t stop the mixture from dripping so I used wrapped cling wrap over the cap and rocked my Doek!
I had to go to youth so yeah the smell of mayonnaise wouldn’t have been pleasant.
I kept it on over night rinsed it off and LCO’d my hair. As you all know the LCO method is ideal for dry and low porosity hair! So its drying now for the braiding process
Even touching my hair now it feels like a lamb  its just so soft I have to stop myself touching it every time!
I have to admit in terms of growth I don’t see any. So I don’t fully agree with the 1cm or more growth over night. Or maybe its because I didn’t use the organic mayonnaise. 😳 I’ll definitely use it next time when I’m not on my way to youth.
I’ll post some pictures for you of my protective style soon.
Thanks for reading ladies I hope it helped guys!

Bye for now.
